SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — A former Scottsdale teacher and athletics coach accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student starting in 2014 has changed his plea to guilty.

Maricopa County prosecutors say Christopher McKenna pleaded guilty Wednesday to sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 16.

The 38-year-old McKenna was arrested last December on suspicion of 10 counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and six counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Police investigated McKenna after being contacted by Scottsdale Unified School District officials, who put him on leave after his arrest.

McKenna coached girls track and cross country at Scottsdale's Chaparral High and taught physical education for special-needs students at eight district schools.
