NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — Authorities in Virginia are offering a reward for help identifying the person who fired shots at the Newport News Police headquarters building early Tuesday, damaging several windows but causing no injuries.

A police statement posted online says surveillance video shows a person with a handgun firing shots into the main entrance, an empty office and a secondary building at about 2:30 a.m.

Staffers were inside, but no one was hurt. Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the shooter's arrest.
