RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 27-year-old Reno man has died from injuries he suffered when he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident on the edge of downtown.

Reno police said Monday they're still looking for the driver involved in Friday night's accident near Ryland and Wells. The pedestrian, Jeffrey Gray, died Sunday at a Reno hospital.

Police found the abandoned vehicle involved in the crash when they responded to a call Friday at 10:22 p.m.

Police say alcohol appears to have been a factor in the deadly accident. A citizen told a 911 dispatcher they were following a reckless driver prior to the crash, but by the time the officers arrived, the driver had fled.

Anyone with information should call Reno police at 775-334-2115 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
