BERLIN (AP) — An injured man who barricaded himself in a restaurant in the western city of Saarbruecken on Sunday morning was later found asleep in the basement of the building and detained, police said.

Saarbruecken police also said the 43-year-old man, who was not identified, didn't have a weapon as authorities had initially reported.

Police spokesman Kurt Schwindling said the man, a relative of the restaurant owner, had initially entered the place, screamed at security staff and sent them outside. Schwindling said the man was probably suffering from psychological problems.

It was not clear why he was injured.

Germany has been on edge after seeing several attacks in the last month.
