CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a former drama teacher at a prestigious New York high school has admitted in a plea deal that he subjected two underaged students to sexual contact.
Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced Friday that Christopher Schraufnagel (SHRAHF'-nay-guhl) has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment charges.
The prosecutor says the incidents involved students at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua (CHAP'-uh-kwah) between May 2011 and June 2015. Schraufnagel resigned last fall.
McCarty says Schraufnagel will face three years of probation with sex offender conditions. He also will surrender his teaching certificate.
He will be sentenced on Nov. 10.
Attorney David Engelsher represents four students who have accused Schraufnagel. Engelsher calls the guilty plea "partial vindication" for them.
