CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A former Tennessee middle school teacher who ran an after-school program will serve one year in prison for his guilty plea in a child sex case.

Twenty-eight-year-old Brandon Kyle Hester was sentenced Friday in Montgomery County Circuit Court for two counts of aggravated statutory rape and two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure.

The Leaf-Chronicle (http://leafne.ws/2aIOibJ ) reports Hester taught at West Creek Middle School from 2010 to 2012. During that time he started an after-school program to mentor boys without father figures.

Court documents show Hester had sexual contact in 2011 with a boy between the ages of 13 and 18. The boy had participated in the after-school program.

According to a plea agreement, Hester will spend one year in custody and serve four years of supervised probation.
