BERLIN (AP) — Authorities in southern Germany say a man was killed when an explosive device he was believed to be carrying went off near an open-air music festival, injuring 10 people. Police in the city of Ansbach say that just after 10 p.m. Sunday they were alerted to an explosion in the city center. They say that "a man, according to our current knowledge the perpetrator, died" in the blast.
MUNICH (AP) — A friend of the 18-year-old man who fatally shot nine people Friday evening in Munich is being questioned by police. They're trying to find out if he may have known of his friend's attack plans. German media reports that the 16-year-old boy had gone to police himself after the deadly rampage. The shooter, who police have described as a withdrawn loner, killed himself after the rampage near a Munich mall.
WASHINGTON (AP) —Bernie Sanders says Democrats need new leadership "that will open the doors of the party and welcome in working people and young people." With that, Sanders says Debbie Wasserman Schultz made the right decision for the Democratic Party's future by resigning as party chair. Her decision follows the publication of hacked emails suggesting the Democratic National Committee favored Hillary Clinton in the presidential primaries.

NEW YORK (AP) — Verizon has agreed to buy online portal Yahoo for roughly $5 billion. That's according to multiple media reports citing a single unnamed source. The deal is expected to be announced formally on Monday before markets open. Verizon had emerged in recent days as the front runner for the beleaguered internet company.
