WASHINGTON (AP) — Bernie Sanders' campaign manager says leaked emails show there were Democratic party officials who were actively helping Hillary Clinton and "trying to hurt" the Sanders campaign. Jeff Weaver also says the revelations could make it harder to promote party unity at next week's Democratic convention. More than 19,000 emails from Democratic party officials have been posted by Wikileaks on its document disclosure website.

WASHINGTON (AP) —Bernie Sanders plans to have a private meeting with his delegates an hour prior to the start of the Democratic National Convention. In a text today, the Sanders campaign says the meeting is about "continuing the political revolution" and the "most important thing you can do at the DNC." The Sanders campaign is assuring its delegates they will not miss votes if they attend the meeting. That was a concern of some delegates.

WASHINGTON (AP) — It's a big day for Tim Kaine. The Virginia senator was introduced at a Florida rally by Hillary Clinton who told a cheering crowd at Florida International University that her running mate is "a progressive who likes to get things done." She said Kaine cares more about making a difference than making headlines, "everything that Donald Trump and Mike Pence are not." Trump calls Clinton, Kaine and President Barack Obama "ultimate insiders."

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police say an Uber driver they pulled over is a convicted felon and had an illegal gun and marijuana while driving a passenger. Officers arrested the 41-year-old man Friday.
