SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Centenary College faculty, staff, and students have laid out the welcome mat for new president, Dr. Christopher L. Holoman.

Holoman succeeds Dr. David Rowe, who led the Shreveport, Louisiana-based institution since August 2009. Rowe resigned to become president of Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Florida.

At a reception Monday on campus, Holoman said he looks forward to working with the school's faculty and staff.

Holoman comes to Centenary from Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York, where he served as provost since 2007. He will have just a few weeks to settle in before joining Centenary's freshman class for the college's Centenary in Paris program, an educational experience that sends the entire incoming class to France for 10 days of immersive study to begin their college careers.
