SALT LAKE CITY -- A new poll shows Donald Trump is getting more support from white evangelicals than Mitt Romney did four years ago.

The Pew Research Center survey finds 78 percent of evangelicals will likely vote for Donald Trump, compared to 75 percent who supported Mitt Romney in July of 2012.

Trump is a Presbyterian, although many evangelicals do not consider him to be particularly devout or even religious. Early in the last election cycle, many of those same evangelicals did not consider Romney to be a Christian.

Utah conservatives picked Ted Cruz in the state caucus earlier this year. Trump finished third here. Romney has said he will not be voting for Trump.
