PHOENIX (AP) — A former Glendale elementary school physical education teacher who pleaded guilty in a sex case has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say John Todorich was sentenced Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Todorich changed his plea to guilty on June 9 as jury selection was beginning for his trial.
Todorich pleaded guilty to three counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, transporting persons for purposes of prostitution, sexual conduct with a minor, child prostitution, attempt to commit child prostitution and attempt to commit luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
Todorich was arrested in September 2012 and charged with 10 counts including child molestation, luring a minor for sexual exploitation and child prostitution.
He was 55 at the time and taught phys-ed at Arroyo Elementary School.
