WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (AP) — Officials say two Bureau of Land Management firefighters are dead and one is hospitalized in Reno after a crash on a remote northern Nevada highway near the Oregon state line.

BLM spokesman Stephen Clutter says the three were returning to Winnemucca from duty in the Denio area when the crash happened Sunday evening on State Route 140.

Details weren't immediately made public.

Clutter didn't immediately respond Monday to messages.

The injured firefighter was flown by medical helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

A BLM statement mourns the deaths and injury and says thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters' families.
