LONDON, Aug 6, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Singer Kylie Minogue's complaints over ticket profiteering for her upcoming London concerts have prompted ticket agencies to officially take action.
The Sun reported that in response to the singer's complaints, official vendors such as See Tickets have begun canceling tickets ordered for her Wembley performances by individuals who inflated the tickets' prices for immediate eBay auctions.
Acting with the full support of the record label Parlophone and its famed 38-year-old singer, the agencies have tracked down those who intended to sell their tickets at an inflated price to third parties and informed them of the action, the newspaper said.
The practice has hampered the concert market for years, driving up ticket prices and making it difficult for fans of performers to attend, the Sun said.
Minogue's call for action was prompted by the presence of inflated tickets to her London comeback shows on eBay mere moments after the four January shows had sold out in six minutes.
