EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Police have identified the person who was killed in a six-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 in Connecticut that included at least one tractor trailer.
State police on Sunday said 68-year-old Adriana Catana, of Trumbull, died in the crash.
It happened at about 11:15 a.m. Saturday in East Haven. Police say the six vehicles were traveling in a line in the center lane when the last vehicle in line struck the vehicle in front of it, causing a chain-reaction crash. Catana was a passenger in the fifth car, which subsequently hit a cement barrier.
Police say at least two people were extricated from their vehicles and several people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. There's no word on charges.
