BARRE, Vt. (AP) — Students from Vermont technical education centers attended a four-day conference in Louisville, Kentucky, last month and came home with seven medals, scholarships and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The 75 Vermonters were among 6,000 students from around the country who gathered for the conference that featured competitions, motivational sessions and opportunities to put their talents on display.

Courtney Morehouse, a student at St. Johnsbury Academy, received a medal and scholarships for commercial baking.

Four Vermonters received awards for their knowledge of health and health care.

Marissa Storto, of Green Mountain Technology and Career Center, won a silver medal in motorcycle service technology. The Harley goes to her and her school.
