BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Officials say it's been another successful year for peregrine falcons nesting in downtown Boise with four chicks fledged.
The Peregrine Fund spokeswoman Erin Katzner says the four chicks recently took flight from their 14th floor nest at One Capital Center.
Live streaming video recorded the incubation of the eggs in April and hatching of chicks in early May. A steady stream of dead birds brought in by their predator parents for food ensued.
Katzner says the falcons will likely remain in the area for about a month as the parents help the young falcons perfect their flying and hunting skills.
She says some peregrine falcons migrate south and some remain in the area through the winter. She says the preference of the adult falcons isn't known.
