ISTANBUL (AP) — Turkey's NTV television is quoting Istanbul's governor as saying 28 people were killed in today's attack at the city's airport and some 60 people wounded. The official (Vasip Sahin) also told the channel that three suicide bombers carried out the attack. Officials had previously said one or two attackers had been blown up at the entrance to the international terminal at the airport after police fired at them.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A two-year, $7 million investigation led by House Republicans into the deadly attacks on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, has produced a report that contains fresh accusations. But there is no "smoking gun" pointing to wrongdoing by Hillary Clinton, then secretary of state and now the Democrats' presumptive presidential nominee. Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy says Americans should read report for themselves. The committee's five Democrats called it "a conspiracy theory on steroids."

WASHINGTON (AP) — It's only about 140 miles, but don't look for Ohio Gov. John Kasich to travel from the capital to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. A spokesman says the former GOP presidential contender has neither sought nor expects a speaking slot at the party's signature event. Kasich has declined to endorse former rival Donald Trump. It's highly unusual for a governor to skip a presidential nominating convention in his own state.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) —A South Carolina prosecutor wants the first crack at Dylann Roof, who is charged with fatally shooting nine black parishioners in Charleston last year. Currently, a federal trial for Roof is set for November. The state trial is set for January 2017. Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson is also going to be prosecuting the state murder trial of former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager (SLAY'-ger), who is accused of shooting black motorist Walter Scott in April 2015. That trial is set for late October and would likely be under way at the same time as Roof's federal trial.

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan's attorney general has proposed spending $3.4 million more on a criminal and civil probe into Flint's lead-contamination water crisis. The money would fund a probe conducted by outside lawyers and investigators. Residents of the impoverished, predominantly black city drank water from the corrosive Flint River for nearly 18 months after the city's water source was switched by state regulators as a way to save money. In addition to lead exposure, experts have also suggested a link between the river and a deadly Legionnaires' disease outbreak.
