HEBER CITY — For 15 years, Barry Hancock has been restoring and flying vintage war planes.

His weapon of choice? A 1951 North American Aviation T6 Texan. Hancock says it started its life as a fighter jet in the Spanish Air Force, training hundreds of thousands of pilots. After the Spaniards retired it, it came to the U.S. and Hancock made it his three and a half years ago.

He now runs Utah Warbird Adventures, taking people on flights they'll never forget, and performing at air shows, including this weekend's Warriors over the Wasatch at Hill Air Force Base.

"It's fun, it's what I love and love the history of it and keeping the history alive," he said. "And keeping the memory and honoring the men and women who fought and died for us in World War II."
