DRAPER, Utah (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man they say fired a dozen gunshots at a hotel clerk in Draper.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/28JQ4Il ) the victim escaped the early Monday incident without injury.
The 30-year-old suspect, Delbert Wayne Auger, is being investigated on several charges, including attempted murder.
Police say the hotel clerk had been outside conducting a security check of the building when he came across a man in the parking lot who began firing shots at him.
The victim reportedly dodged the bullets by running and hiding between parked vehicles.
Records show at least two vehicles were struck by gunfire, but no injuries were reported.
The shooting comes after Auger's arrest in February by the Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit, which had him among its list of most wanted fugitives.
