ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A shooting survivor tells The Associated Press that when he saw a picture of Orlando nightclub gunman Omar Mateen on television the day after the shooting, he recognized him as the same man he saw having a drink at the bar earlier in the night. Felipe Marrero's account could not immediately be verified by the FBI. Marrero was shot four times in the back, and his left arm badly damaged.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A year after a gunman killed nine people at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, members have demonstrated their faith at a memorial service. Gov. MEDFORD, N.J. (AP) — Family, friends and fans have turned out at a memorial service in New Jersey for "The Voice" singer Christina Grimmie. Grimmie lived in nearby Evesham Township, about 20 miles from Philadelphia, before moving to Los Angeles in 2012. FEASTERVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania couple is accused of child endangerment after police say they gave away their 14-year-old daughter to a man who helped them financially. The friend's charged with sexually assaulting the teen, who had two children with him. Acting on a tip, police found 51-year-old Lee Kaplan at his Feasterville home, along with 12 girls ranging in age from six months to 18 years. He and the girl's father are being held on $1 million bail.

VIENNA (AP) — The Russian anthem apparently won't be heard during any medals ceremonies at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Russia's track and field athletes will be banned from competing for their country after a landmark decision today that punished Russia for a systematic doping system. The ruling body that governs track and field --- the IAFF -- says allowing Russians to compete would undermine the confidence of competitors and the public. An appeal is being considered.
