NEW LONDON, N.H. (AP) — A 45-year-old New Hampshire nursing home that officials say loses $1 million every year is shutting its doors this fall.
The Valley News reports (http://bit.ly/1UnggH2 ) New London Hospital's board of trustees voted unanimously on Thursday to close the William P. Clough Extended Care Center by Oct. 1. That gives officials less than four months to make arrangements for the 31 residents still living at the nursing home.
The 58-bed facility has stopped taking patients and officials say they're confident that they'll be able to find alternate arrangements for their residents.
Hospital officials say they're working to help 35 staff members at the facility find new jobs either within the hospital or with private nursing homes that may take some of the residents.
