COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The Southeastern Piano Festival is offering a week of intense classwork for students and daily concerts by top pianists at the University of South Carolina.

The festival opens at 4 p.m. Sunday with a concert featuring University of South Carolina music professor Marina Lomazov and several other artists performing on Steinway concert pianos. It takes place in the Johnson Performance Hall in the Darla Moore School of Business.

During the week, student pianists participate in up to five hours of daily lessons with USC piano faculty and master classes with guest artists. The week culminates with a piano competition on Saturday. Winners may perform with the South Carolina Philharmonic. The festival features nightly concerts by guest pianists.
