MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — A pediatrician in Mitchell has created a cream for use on mosquito bites.

The Daily Republic (http://bit.ly/1U9g5R1 ) reports Dr. Christine Arnold's inspiration to develop the cream came after a doctor in Seattle prescribed his own creation to help her son. Her goal was to prevent swelling of mosquito bites and get rid of pain.

Arnold, who is a pediatrician at Sanford Health in Mitchell, included in her cream a steroid cream to battle itchiness, lidocaine for pain and an antibiotic cream.

Arnold advises that her cream be used three to five times daily for two days.
