CAIRO (AP) — Searchers may be closer to finding the black boxes from the EgyptAir plane that crashed into the Mediterranean last month, killing all 66 people on board. Egypt says a French ship has picked up signals from deep underwater. They're presumed to be from the black boxes of the Airbus A320.
RICHMOND, Texas (AP) — Some rural southeastern Texas counties are bracing for more flooding along a river that's reached a record high. Large sections of suburban communities southwest of Houston are underwater, and more rain is in the forecast. The Brazos (BRAZ'-uhs) River has reached 54.37 feet, just two years after it had run dry in places because of drought.
PARIS (AP) — Cities and towns around France have been hit with flooding, or are threatened with rising waters. In Paris, the Seine River has overflowed its embankments. Unusually heavy rain in recent days has caused exceptional delays at the French Open and forced the evacuation of two prisons and left tourists soaking at sights around Paris.
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey's prime minister says his country's relations with Germany will be harmed if the parliament in Berlin votes to describe the killings of Armenians during World War I as genocide. Binali Yildirim said, however, that Turkey wouldn't nix a key deal with the European Union on curbing migrant flows to Europe over the genocide issue.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea says a group of North Koreans who escaped from a Pyongyang-run restaurant overseas where they had been working have arrived in the South. South Korea's Yonhap news agency has reported that three North Korean women who had been working at a restaurant in China arrived in South Korea after flying in from Thailand.
