CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Prison officials in Nevada say a 35-year-old inmate has died while serving a sentence of up to 36 years in state prison on multiple felony charges.
The state Department of Corrections says Matthew Madrid was pronounced Wednesday at a prison medical center at Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
A cause of death wasn't immediately disclosed. Officials said an autopsy would be conducted.
Madrid was sentenced last year in Las Vegas to 8 1/3 to 36 years on a parole violation and convictions on ex-felon in possession of a firearm, battery with a weapon and robbery with a weapon charges.
