WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) — Law enforcement officials say a false report about a gun on campus caused a brief lockdown at a Florida high school.
The Winter Haven Police Department said in a news release that a Winter Haven High School student was taken into custody Wednesday and will be charged with making a false report.
All students and staff at the school are safe.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search of the school.
Police say further information will be released later.
