LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — University of Arkansas System President Donald Bobbitt says he will recommend that Sonoma State University Provost Andrew Rogerson be named chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Bobbitt says he'll make the recommendation to the UA Board of Trustees when the board meets Wednesday and Thursday at Cossatot Community College in De Queen.

Rogerson is a native of Scotland and is currently both provost and vice president of academic affairs at Sonoma State in Rohnert Park, California. He has an undergraduate degree in biology and a doctorate in protozoan ecology.

He was chosen from among three finalists for the post and would succeed UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson, who is retiring June 30.
