FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — The president of Indiana Tech University says he will retire next year after leading the school since 2003.
The (Fort Wayne) Journal Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1NwT7Cq ) that 67-year-old Arthur Snyder made the announcement Monday. The school has grown since his term of leadership started 13 years ago.
Undergraduate enrollment has increased from 626 to more than 1,400 students and adults students in the school's College of Professional Studies has tripled to more than 8,400.
The Fort Wayne school also has more than two dozen new programs. Snyder says there are additional new programs in the works. The campus also has seen a dozen of its 12 building built or renovated during Snyder's tenure.
Indiana Tech has added a men's hockey team too, but Snyder says he won't recommend a football team because of potential player injuries.
