JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Hattiesburg Fire Department has a new logo thanks to graphic design students at the University of Southern Mississippi.
A university news release says the logo was designed by Cody Bass, of Brandon, Mississippi. Bass was part of a 10-member team with the university's student-run graphic design agency called Rise Creative.
Fire Chief Paul Presley says the logo will go on the department's new truck and clothing firefighters wear. He says that having a logo designed by students at Southern Miss means a lot to his department, whose members look out for the campus.
Bass, who graduates Friday, says it means a lot to him that the department will use the logo for years to come. He also says he's happy to have real client work to help him professionally.
