MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Prince's personal chef says the star was battling waves of sore throats and frequent upset stomachs in his final months. Ray Roberts, who cooked for Prince for almost three years, tells The Associated Press the musician had recently been asking for items like smoothies and freshly squeezed juices that were easier to digest. He says he felt Prince "wasn't himself" in the months before he was found dead on April 21.
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say six people, including four children, have been killed in a highway crash in South Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol says last night's crash involving a minivan and an SUV occurred on Interstate 95 in Jupiter. The patrol tells the Palm Beach Post that one driver lost control of a vehicle and drove into a wall, then bounced off and into the path of the other vehicle.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says President Barack Obama's daughter Malia will take a year off after high school and attend Harvard University in 2017. Malia will graduate in June from the exclusive Sidwell Friends School in Washington and celebrate her 18th birthday on the Fourth of July. She visited at least a dozen public and private colleges before settling on Harvard, where both her parents earned law degrees. Harvard encourages admitted students to defer for one year to travel, pursue a special project or spend time in another meaningful way.
WASHINGTON (AP) — No injuries are reported after a CSX freight train derailed near a Metro stop in Washington, D.C., this morning, sending about 10 cars off the tracks. The company says a corrosive chemical, sodium hydroxide, was leaking from one of the derailed cars. No evacuations were ordered.
NEW YORK (AP) — A New York senator is asking the Federal Trade Commission to investigate an advertising technique that uses mobile phone data to learn about people who pass by billboards. Charles Schumer says most people don't realize their location data is being monitored. Clear Channel Outdoor Americas says its RADAR program doesn't collect any identifiable information about consumers. It says it only uses anonymous data collected by other companies. The company operates more than 675,000 billboards throughout the world.
