JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi students taking an online, statewide assessment have experienced some trouble connecting to the program.
About 12,000 students in grades 3 through 12 were testing their English and math skills with the Mississippi Assessment Program Wednesday. The test is run online by Questar, a company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The company says in a news release that some testing sites in Mississippi had trouble connecting for about 20 minutes in the morning. Testing had resumed by 9 a.m.
State Superintendent Carey Wright says in a statement that technology glitches are expected with statewide online tests and that the issues were fixed quickly.
Wednesday was the second day of MAP testing. Students are scheduled to take it now through May 17.
Questar says it is investigating the cause of the problem.
