PIKETON, Ohio (AP) — Ohio authorities say they have received an "overwhelming" number of tips as they investigate eight killings in a rural area east of Cincinnati. Seven adults and a 16-year-old boy, all members of one family, were found dead with gunshots to the head at four homes near Piketon. Investigators say they've interviewed more than 30 people hoping to find leads. At least one assailant is believed to be at large.
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Police in Alabama are investigating a shooting at a nightclub that left three people dead. WSFA reports that the shooting happened early today at a club in Auburn. A fourth person has been taken to East Alabama Medical Center, and is expected to recover.
GAZIANTEP, Turkey (AP) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel (AHN'-geh-lah MEHR'-kuhl) and top European Union officials have arrived near Turkey's border with Syria in a bid to bolster a migration deal with Turkey. They're facing growing pressure to reassess the agreement, which allows migrants who don't qualify for asylum in Greece to be deported to Turkey. The delegation is scheduled to visit a government-run refugee camp as well as an EU-funded child center.
UNDATED (AP) — President Barack Obama says the deal between the European Union and Turkey takes a step toward fairer sharing of the job of housing refugees. But in comments to the German daily Bild, Obama also said it's "essential that migrants are treated properly and that human rights are upheld." Obama praised German Chancellor Angela Merkel's "political and moral leadership" in acting on an obligation to help people fleeing horrific conditions.
LONDON (AP) — On his final day in London, President Barack Obama is playing his first overseas golf round as president. He and Prime Minister David Cameron are playing at The Grove, which is hosting The British Masters later this year.
