SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — The Rev. Charles B. Simmons, a 1971 Centenary graduate and member of its Board of Trustees, will deliver the commencement address at the college's ceremony on April 30.
Centenary President B. David Rowe says Simmons is an excellent example for students. The ceremony at the Gold Dome begins at 10:30 a.m.
In addition to delivering the commencement address, Simmons will receive an honorary degree from Centenary during the ceremony.
Pam Atchison, executive director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, and the Rev. Brady L. Blade Sr., pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Shreveport, also will receive honorary degrees.
