CHANHASSEN, Minn. (AP) — Sales of Prince's music have soared since news of his death broke. Three of his albums, including "Purple Rain," jumped to the top three spots on iTunes' Top Albums chart within hours. Meanwhile, many fellow pop stars are paying tribute to Prince in statements or on Twitter. Katy Perry writes, "The world lost a lot of magic." La Toya Jackson calls Prince "an incredible talent." Authorities say he was unresponsive when found at his home. An autopsy is set for Friday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior Republican says a bipartisan measure to partially fund President Barack Obama's $1.9 billion request to combat the Zika virus will soon get a vote. The Zika virus, which causes severe birth defects, is sweeping across Latin America. The White House says Congress needs to act quickly to fund research against Zika and Ebola.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Female remains found Thursday in Virginia's Shenandoah National Park are likely those of a paramedic-firefighter who disappeared a week ago. A spokeswoman for Virginia State Police says troopers have preliminarily identified the body found as Nicole Mittendorff of Woodbridge, Virginia.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The nearly half million people in the U.S. who own polluting Volkswagens will get relief under a deal announced by a federal judge. They have the option of selling them back to the VW or getting them repaired at the company's expense. But it's not yet clear how much owners can expect or if they will be compensated for reduced mileage.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Jake Arrieta (ehr-ee-ET'-uh) of the Chicago Cubs has pitched his second no-hitter in a span of 11 regular-season starts. Arrieta shut down the Cincinnati Reds in a 16-0 rout Thursday night. The reigning NL Cy Young winner threw the first no-hitter of the Major League Baseball season.
