WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton has emerged victorious from New York's presidential primary in her quest for the Democratic nomination. Of the 247 Democratic delegates at stake, Clinton picked up at least 135 while rival Bernie Sanders gained at least 104. Meanwhile, Republican Donald Trump strengthened his own path to the general election with a commanding primary victory, gaining at least 89 of New York's 95 GOP delegates.

The measure would promote a variety of energy sources and speed federal approval of projects to export liquefied natural gas to Europe and Asia. Debate on the bill was delayed for more than two months amid a partisan dispute over an emergency measure to help fix and replace lead-contaminated pipes in Flint, Michigan.
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Criminal charges are expected to be brought in connection with Flint, Michigan's lead-tainted water crisis. Government officials say the state attorney general will file today against two state regulators and a Flint employee. The charges are said to include violating Michigan's drinking water law, official misconduct, destruction of utility property and evidence tampering.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio Supreme Court is considering a request to reinstate charges against a Cleveland man accused of attacking a woman in 1993. Prosecutors and advocates for rape victims say a lower court's dismissal of the charges creates a harmful legal precedent. They say thousands of unsolved rapes that are being re-investigated thanks to improved DNA testing could be placed in jeopardy.
TOKYO (AP) — The Roman Catholic Church's sex abuse scandal has reached into Japan, where Catholics make up a tiny minority of the population. Former students at a prestigious all-boys parochial school allege they were molested or raped by religious brothers who taught there decades ago.
