According to deputies, 21-year-old Forrest James McCombs was driving the vehicle up a trail when it lost traction.
The SUV then slid sideways and rolled 200 yards down.
McCombs suffered injuries to his head and body.

He was later pronounced dead the scene.
Deputies say the SUV belonged to a passenger, 21-year-old Braden Kocherhans, of Orem.
Kocherhans suffered less serious injuries.
Cannon says open containers of alcohol were discovered inside the car.
The investigation remains ongoing.
