SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The search for a man who went missing on Lake Powell is now being called a recovery effort. Divers and officers from agencies in Utah and Arizona continued looking Sunday for the 26-year-old man. The man reportedly fell from a boat Thursday and never resurfaced.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah's state auditor is calling on the agency that oversees emergency communications to disclose its finances or lose money. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that State Auditor John Dougall warned the Utah Communications Authority in a letter that he would cut off funding if the agency didn't list financial and salary information on a transparency website. Tina Mathieu, chairwoman of the board that oversees the agency, says she was unaware that it had not been reporting finances.

ELBERTA, Utah (AP) — Utah County Sheriff's officials say an Orem man was killed and another injured when their SUV rolled over on a steep mountainside. Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon says the incident happened Saturday afternoon in the Chimney Rock Pass area. The driver, 21-year-old Forrest James McCombs, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah county is crying foul over a voting lawsuit filed by members of the Navajo Nation who say a move to hold elections only by mail disenfranchises people who live on remote parts of the reservation where mail service is unreliable. San Juan County says in a recent court filing that several Navajos involved in the legal challenge fabricated a "sham lawsuit" is an attempt to regain control of local politics.
