SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) — Police say a 9-year-old boy has died after being hit by a vehicle near Provo.
Springville police say the boy was riding his bicycle home from a Boy Scouts meeting Wednesday evening when he ran a stop sign and was hit by an oncoming SUV.
Springville Police Lt. David Caron says the boy was taken by helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital, where he was put on life support. He died Thursday from his injuries.
Caron says the woman driving the SUV was not speeding or impaired and doesn't anticipate that she will face any charges from the crash.
Police have not released the boy's name.
