MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — Several high school students have been taken to hospitals following the discharge of pepper spray inside a private school in Milford.

Emergency crews were called to Lauralton Hall on Tuesday morning.

Milford fire officials say the spray was released between classes in an area with a large number of students but none of them had a severe reaction. Officials are investigating the cause. Classes have been dismissed for the day.

The private Roman Catholic high school was founded in 1905 and enrolls 468 students.
