LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — The Nez Perce Tribe is considering Idaho's Hells Canyon as a possible site for the reintroduction of California condors. The Lewiston Tribune reports that the tribe received a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to assess whether that area or other canyons would make a good condor habitat. Nez Perce wildlife program project leader Angela Sondenaa says tribal biologists will look for wide ledges, deep caves and big game animal carcasses to feed on.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State University officials say the person who distributed DVDs containing anti-Muslim propaganda on campus was someone from outside the area and not connected to the school. The Idaho State Journal reports the DVDs were placed on car windshields and around housing areas Monday.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A former peanut company executive serving a 28-year prison sentence won't have to pay money to victims of a deadly salmonella outbreak linked to his Georgia plant. A federal judge decided Wednesday to spare former Peanut Corporation of America owner Stewart Parnell and three co-defendants from paying restitution to corporate customers and the families of hundreds who got sick after eating tainted peanut butter in 2008 and 2009.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho State Board of Education is considering linking funding for higher education to student success. The Idaho Statesman reports that the board is drafting a proposal for next year's Legislature that would likely link college funding with an increased number of graduates rather than growth in enrollment or credit hours taught.
