CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Emergency responders are on the scene of an Amtrak train derailment near Philadelphia. Authorities say the train struck a piece of construction equipment, and some injuries are being reported. Service on the Northeast Corridor between New York and Philadelphia has been suspended. Amtrak said Train 89 was heading from New York to Savannah, Georgia, when it struck a backhoe that was on the track in Chester, about 15 miles outside of Philadelphia.
BRUSSELS (AP) — A Brussels Airlines plane heading to the Portuguese city of Faro has taken off from Brussels Airport. It's the first passenger flight to leave the airport since suicide bombings on March 22 ripped through its check-in counters. Security at the airport was tight with completely new check-in procedures for passengers. Two other planes are scheduled to leave today.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Recommendations sent to the government could clear the way for commercial drone flights over populated areas and help speed the introduction of drone delivery and newsgathering flights. The recommendations come from a group that includes drone manufacturers, companies that want to fly drones, airline pilots and other aviation interests. They call for drones weighing about a half-pound or less to be allowed to fly essentially unrestricted over people, including crowds. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the proposal sent to the Federal Aviation Administration.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Donald Trump says he believes he'll still end up with enough delegates to become the Republican presidential nominee even if he loses the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday. Trump is acknowledging in an interview on "Fox News Sunday" that last week wasn't his best of the campaign. He spent much of it on defense over comments about abortion, NATO and nuclear weapons for Japan and South Korea. But he says he still thinks he'll win the nomination.
WESTERVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A former Ohio State quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner has been arrested in Ohio on charges of driving under the influence. Police tell The Columbus Dispatch that Troy Smith is charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of marijuana and improper display of a license plate. He was pulled over early this morning. Smith played for Ohio State under coach Jim Tressel from 2003 to 2006 and won the Heisman in 2006. He spent four years in the NFL, playing for the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.
