FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — The LDS Church says officials will examine a lawsuit filed by two Navajo siblings who allege they were sexually abused in a church program. The lawsuit seeks written apologies, unspecified damages, changes in church policy and the creation of a task force to help address cultural or social harm to Navajos.

DENVER (AP) — States and Indian tribes are getting ready in case runoff from melting snow stirs up potentially toxic metals in two rivers after a massive spill from a Colorado mine last August. More than two dozen agencies say they'll monitor the Animas and San Juan rivers in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah State Auditor says a public health department in southern Utah violated state law and failed to release financial information. A report says the Southwest Utah Public Health Department in St. George failed to release the data and transferred money to its nonprofit foundation to circumvent state law. The health department says it has taken steps to address the auditor's report.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former campaign consultant for Utah Sen. Mike Lee will serve as the new president of the conservative Sutherland Institute, replacing a leader asked to step down two years ago amid disagreements about the organization's future. The Utah think tank says Boyd Matheson is expected to assume his new post early next month.
