BRUSSELS (AP) — The Islamic State group claim of responsibility for the Brussels attacks that killed at least 34 people also promises it's not over yet, warning of "dark days" in countries taking part in the anti-IS coalition. Belgian state broadcaster RTBF has identified two of the attackers as known to police, but not relating to terrorism. Muslim Americans and civil rights groups have sharply rebuked Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz for his call for increased surveillance of Muslims.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Spring may already be a few days old but don't tell that to residents of the Upper Midwest. They're bracing for up to a foot of snow today in parts of the region from a powerful storm system developing over Colorado. Forecasters say northern Iowa, southern Minnesota, central Wisconsin and northern Michigan could get hit. Tornadoes could hit the South.
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — President Barack Obama's state visit to Argentina is an acknowledgement of a change of political direction. After years of anti-American posturing by its former leader, Argentina has a new, more welcoming president. Obama will be greeted officially later by President Mauricio Macri, ahead of a meeting and joint news conference.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Library of Congress is making another addition to U.S. posterity today. The Gloria Gaynor disco anthem, "I Will Survive," George Carlin's seven dirty words routine and coverage of Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game are among 25 sound recordings selected for preservation. They include recordings reaching back to 1911. Each year the library chooses recordings that are "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" and are at least 10 years old.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — The cupboards at the International Space Station are going from bare to brimming with another load of fresh supplies on its way after several failures. The unmanned Atlas V rocket provided late-night sparkle to the Florida sky as it boosted Orbital ATK's Cygnus capsule and nearly 8,000 pounds of food, equipment and scientific research toward the ISS for a Saturday delivery.
