LAS VEGAS (AP) — An energy task force formed by the governor meets today to discuss hot-button issues including rooftop solar rates and the Clean Power Plan. The New Energy Industry Task Force is one way Gov. Brian Sandoval is responding to uproar over new rates set last year for net metering, the process of people selling excess energy from their solar panels back to the utility.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Five men have pleaded not guilty to federal charges in Las Vegas stemming from an armed confrontation with government agents rounding up cows near Cliven Bundy's ranch in April 2014. A magistrate judge appointed lawyers for Bundy's son David and four other men and ordered each to remain in custody — at least for now. They're among 19 people accused of conspiracy, obstruction and weapon offenses and assault on federal officers.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The battle for a majority in the Nevada Legislature is coming into focus after a deadline passed Friday for candidates to get their name on the ballot. Democrats are eager to reverse devastating losses in 2014 and Republicans are trying maintain their controlling position by guiding moderate incumbents past droves of anti-tax challengers.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Windy weather is blamed for an electrical fire and power outage that affected several thousand Reno-area residents. A NV Energy spokeswoman says electricity was interrupted about 1:15 yesterday afternoon in the southwest Reno area, but most customers had power restored within an hour.
