SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah voters will put their stamp on the 2016 presidential race today when they choose candidates for both major parties. Ted Cruz is projected to win the GOP vote and Bernie Sanders expected to give Hillary Clinton a stiff challenge on the Democratic side. Cruz enters the race fueled by newly pledged support from Mitt Romney and Gov. Gary Herbert, who both urged voters to back the Texas senator because he's the party's best chance to topple Donald Trump.

HUNTSVILLE, Utah (AP) — Weber County authorities say a 25-year-old man remains in critical condition after a snowboarding accident at Snowbasin Ski Resort. The Standard-Examiner reports that the resort says the Pennsylvania man had been riding outside of the ski area boundary above the Mt. Ogden Bowl.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Five people, including Nevada cattleman Cliven Bundy's son, pleaded not guilty to federal charges in Las Vegas stemming from an armed confrontation with government agents rounding up cows near Bundy's ranch in 2014. They're among 19 people accused of conspiracy, obstruction and weapon offenses and assault on federal officers.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A growing number of states are weighing whether to legalize marijuana to treat PTSD. But for many veterans, the debate is already over. They're increasingly using cannabis even though it remains illegal in most states and is unapproved by the VA because major studies have yet to show it is effective against PTSD.
