SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is holding a campaign rally this afternoon at West High School in Salt Lake City. Sanders held a similar event Friday that attracted thousands of supporters, many of whom were young people. Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton has not made a public appearance in Utah.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah voters will navigate a new presidential caucus system tomorrow. Unlike in some past presidential campaigns, the state of Utah is not paying for a primary election this year, leaving the parties to set up their own systems. Democrats are holding a traditional paper vote, but to boost participation, the Utah GOP is offering online voting.
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A group of snowmobilers survived being caught in an avalanche while snowmobiling in Cache County. The Standard-Examiner reports one snowmobiler was buried by the snow, but the others were able to dig him out. Two of the riders were wearing air bag devices that kept them from being fully buried.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a 57-year-old man has died in a skiing accident at Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Unified police Detective Ken Hansen says Jeff Gentry of Murray had been skiing when he lost control and struck a tree at the bottom of Chip's Run. He died at the scene on Sunday.
