HAVANA (AP) — Cuban President Raul Castro plans to greet President Barack Obama Monday at the Palace of the Revolution. Castro did not greet Obama Sunday when Obama, the first lady and their daughters arrived in Havana. Obama was instead welcomed by top Cuban officials. Obama then visited staff of the new U.S. Embassy in Havana.
PALM BEACH, Florida (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is praising a supporter who kicked and punched a protester at a rally in Tucson Saturday, calling him "wonderful" and a "very fine guy." The protester had been a carrying a sign with an image of a Confederate flag over an image of Trump, and he was assaulted by a black man while being led out by security.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The FBI says it's working closely with the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Marshals after Donald Trump's sister received a threatening letter. Maryanne Trump Barry is a federal judge in Philadelphia. Law enforcement officials said Friday that Donald Trump's son Eric received a threatening letter urging the candidate to quit the presidential race.
TOKYO (AP) — Two British ships have arrived in eastern Japan to transport a shipment of plutonium to the U.S. for storage under a bilateral agreement. It will take several hours to load the plutonium-filled casks onto the ships, both fitted with naval guns and other protection. The plutonium — enough to make dozens of atomic bombs — will be taken to a U.S. government facility in South Carolina.
FORT LITTLETON, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in Dublin Township, Pennsylvania say they're not sure why a retired state trooper tried to rob a toll plaza Sunday morning, killing a toll collector and a security guard before he was shot and killed by a state trooper. Authorities say Clarence Briggs retired from state police four years ago. The toll collector had been on the job for less than three months.
