WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has overwhelmingly approved a resolution that condemns Islamic State atrocities against Syrian and Iraqi religious and ethnic minorities as genocide. The symbolic vote was 393-0. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered most of Russian forces in Syria to withdraw. The decision comes as Syrian peace talks are beginning in Geneva.
NORTH CANTON, Ohio (AP) — It's not an endorsement, but Mitt Romney has campaigned today with Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Romney said Kasich has "a real track record." He has urged Republicans not to support Donald Trump. Meanwhile, North Carolina authorities say they're reviewing a Trump rally last week in which a protester was struck by an attendee. Under consideration is whether there was incitement by Trump or the campaign.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A relative says Sarah Palin's husband Todd suffered eight fractured ribs and other injuries in a snowmobile accident in Alaska on Sunday, but is expected to recover. Palin's father Jim blames a "freak accident." It happened about 70 miles north of the Palins' hometown of Wasilla.
CHEVERLY, Md. (AP) — Police say a Maryland undercover narcotics officer shot dead yesterday outside a police station ambushed by a gunman died from a round fired by one of four responding officers. The chief of Prince George's County police says the shooting was random and recorded by the gunman's brothers as if it were a game being played for YouTube.
SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say a customer in a Washington state convenience store shot and killed a man who attacked him and a clerk with a hatchet. The King County sheriff's office says the clerk suffered a minor injury. The customer wasn't hurt.
