LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say two men in a stolen U-Haul led them on a nighttime chase through Las Vegas. Lt. Rick Given says someone called police yesterday to report the theft and that at least two shots were fired at a man trying to stop them. The man wasn't hurt. Police chased the stolen U-Haul and were eventually able to stop it. Two people were taken into custody.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A young man who admitted shooting and killing a Las Vegas mom has pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon in a separate case alleging he held a knife to the throat of a 13-year-old boy. Erich Milton Nowsch Jr.'s plea was the second part of a plea deal. Nowsch will face up to life in prison at sentencing April 21 in the murder case. He'll face up to six years on the knife case at sentencing April 28.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The lawyer for "Pawn Stars" reality TV star "Chumlee" says he'll fight felony weapon and drug charges — and sex assault allegations if they're filed. Austin Lee Russell posted $62,000 bail and was released from jail pending a May 23 court date. Russell was arrested after police say officers serving a search warrant in a sexual assault investigation found methamphetamine, marijuana and a gun at his Las Vegas home.
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Police in North Las Vegas say speed appears to be a factor in a crash that killed one person and injured six, and the possibility of alcohol or drug use also is being probed. A police spokesman says a male passenger in an SUV died when a sedan filled with teenagers slammed into it.
