GREENCASTLE, Ind. (AP) — The dean of the music school at DePauw University has been named the next president of the private liberal arts college in Greencastle.

The university said in a news release that the college's Board of Trustees on Monday unanimously selected D. Mark McCoy as president of DePauw effective July 1. He succeeds Brian W. Casey, who is leaving to become president of Colgate University in New York.

McCoy has been dean of the music school since August 2011. An 18-member presidential search committee had picked McCoy, with the choice confirmed by trustees. Two receptions are planned for Tuesday.

Casey became president of DePauw in 2008.
